Bishop's Profile
Bishop Bafana Stephen Zondo was born on the 24 January, 1966 in the district of Heilbron in the Free-State province, from a family of eight children which was really underprivileged. He got saved in 1978 at the age of eleven at the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa (AFMSA). He then started preaching at schools and on the streets. He is happily married to Fikile Pascaline Zondo and blessed with two children namely, Nkosana Prince and Nonhlanhla Marjorie Zondo. Being born in a family of witch-doctors, he suffered persecution from his family who misunderstood salvation and its lifestyle. He also had to leave school for work, due to financial constraints..He managed to further his studies through adult education. He also achieved a Diploma in Theology at Rhema Bible Training Centre in Johannesburg, Degree of Master of Christian Education at the International Apostolic College of Grace and Truth, Degree of Bachelor of Christian Education at Grace International and ultimately he obtained a Doctorate Degree - Th. D (h.c) through Christ the Lamb School of Theology on the 10 June 2000.
He is a bold, dynamic, powerful preacher who regularly travels to the U.S, Canada, Germany and Africa, used by God to evangelize, heal and preach the Good News. He started the ministry nineteen years ago with his wife and his son as the first congregation. Now, the church has grown so big and fast, that there are satellite churches in Frankfort, Reitz, Soweto, and Welkom in the Free State Province. He normally ministers to a capacity of five thousand five hundred (5 500) adults and children.
He is involved in numerous community development projects. One of the projects he was involved in recently was a donation of R10 000.00 to Sibonile School of the Blind. In May 2000 he hosted "The Night of the Gospel Pioneers" whereby all the ministers of the Gospel (who stood up to the test of time, some under very hard conditions) from different denominations were honoured. To mention but a few were, Dr. Lord McCamel, Mother. Bishop Manku, Rev. L.S. Booysen, Rev. D. Lekota, Pastor. J. Lehoko, and more others.
On the 3rd August 2001 during the "National Soccer Awards" he acknowledged sportsmen and women who are involved in soccer.
